Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade hosts Gala kick-off party onboard NCL ship

For the third year in a row more than 75 guests boarded Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Norwegian Escape at the Port of Miami on Saturday, Oct. 7, to celebrate the kick-off of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s 11th annual “Wild About Kids” Gala.

The upcoming black-tie Gala, themed “A Great Gatsby,” will take place on Nov. 11 at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami in Downtown Miami.

Guests were greeted by Boys & Girls Clubs members from the South Beach Club who cheered as they thanked guest for attending. Guest also enjoyed a luncheon and raffle where one lucky guest won a weekend NCL cruise.

Special guests and Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade supporters included Daniel Andai, dean of music, New World School of the Arts, and renowned local watercolor artist Eileen Seitz.

While having lunch guests enjoyed presentations by Alex Rodriguez-Roig, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade; special event chair Olga Guilarte, and board members Marile Lopez and her husband Jorge Luis López, who is the Gala co-chair this year.
Joining López as the “Wild About Kids” co-chair this year is Juan José Delgado, who along with his wife, Gabriela Rachadell de Delgado, and the Lopezes also were co-chairs for the 10th annual event last year.

The highlight of the afternoon was the re-commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade by Andy Stuart, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines, who pledged to help Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virgin Islands, especially the St. Thomas Club that was hit hard by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, by sending a cruise ship and much-needed supplies to aid in their recovery.

Proceeds from the Nov. 11 “Wild About Kids” Gala will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s many positive programs. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available and range from $1,000 to $100,000. Individual tickets are $500; tables (10 seats) are $5,000.
