Branches, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing life-changing opportunities to families and their children, celebrated its annual Black Tie & Blue Jeans Gala and Auction on Saturday, Apr. 29, at the J.W. Marriott Marquis Miami.
This year’s gala celebrated Branches’ 50th anniversary under neon lights, and attendees had the opportunity to play various games like Mario Kart, corn hole, ping pong, foosball, and more with their guests as well as Branches youth. Thanks to the generosity of so many, and Trish & Dan Bell’s $1 for $1 match of the evening’s appeal, Branches raised a record $650,000 to continue providing life-changing opportunities for the community’s children and families.
This year’s gala was made possible thanks to philanthropic chairs Trish and Dan Bell, gala chairs Karla and Scott Richey, and emcee Ron Magill of Zoo Miami. Branches also honored Ana VeigaMilton and Cecil Milton of The José Milton Foundation with the 2023 Trish and Dan Bell Community Empowerment Award, celebrating their incredible contributions to the Miami community.
Some 500-plus local philanthropists and corporate partners attended the gala and helped raise funds for Branches’ programs which provide life-changing opportunities for families to help them break the cycle of intergenerational poverty, through after-school enrichment and post-secondary focused support for children and youth, as well as a wide array of financial wellness services.
