Brévo Theatre will present Brévo for Broadway, its inaugural production of the Young, Gifted & Brave – Theatre for Youth program that includes a compilation performance of Tony award-winning Broadway musicals and plays featuring more than 20 of Miami’s top high school student performers and recent graduates.
The performance will take place on July 23 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Proscenium Theatre at the Little Haiti Cultural Center, 212 NE 59 Terr., Miami, Florida 33137. General admission tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children (15+) and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at Brévo Theatre.
In its inaugural program year, Young, Gifted & Brave – Theatre for Youth engages young actors in diverse and underserved communities who are interested in high-quality actor training and performance instruction. The outreach program provides workshops and one-on-one training to students throughout the school year culminating in this final summer performance. Brévo for Broadway will feature 15-20 musical pieces including: Six from Six; Sparkling Diamonds from Moulin Rouge; Inner White Girl from A Strange Loop; It’s All Over and And I Am Telling You from Dreamgirls.
“It is truly amazing to use the power of theater to both educate and awaken new experiences for our young students. Our goal is to harness that passion to help develop the next generation of theater performers who will delight their audience,” said Zaylin Yates, co-founder of Brévo Theatre.

Brévo Theatre is an incorporated 501(c)(3), created by Zaylin Yates and his business partner Terrence Pride during their time as students at Florida A&M University. One of the productions they are most proud of incorporated a highly successful and student-funded dinner theater performance of Kissing the Blarney Stone, which paved the way for the duo to continue to produce shows that challenge modern-day theater while showcasing and developing local talent in unconventional performances.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Brévo Theatre produced a series of virtual dance videos that interpreted acts of racial injustice, titled “Protest Art,” commissioned by the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Most recently, Brévo Theatre produced American Son, the Broadway play by Christopher Demos-Brown. The Brévo-produced rendition was sponsored by Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and included a live and in-person conversation with well-known playwright and Miami native, Mr. Demos-Brown titled “2 Shades of Black: An Exploration of Biracial Identity.”
Brévo Theatre’s goal is to provide a platform to the unheard by highlighting up-and-coming playwrights, actors, dancers and directors, by offering a diverse entertainment experience through color-blind casting.
