Construction on the shopping center is well underway, with tenants soon to begin outfitting their individual stores. Construction of the condominium, office and hotel component at Brickell City Centre is nearing completion, with all five towers set to open 2016, prior to the shopping center.
Luxury brands will be located throughout the street-accessible first floor of Brickell City Centre’s retail component. Others will open on the second and third floors, emphasizing premium and contemporary retailers along with a mix of beauty, home decor, jewelry, apparel and other stores. The food and beverage offerings, an integral piece of the Brickell City Centre retail concept, will be situated throughout the fourth floor, offering a mix of fine dining, casual fare and new international brands opening flagships in the U.S.
Brickell City Centre will offer a unique vertical shopping experience, a successful shopping model common in international cities and well-recognized by global travelers.
“As Brickell City Centre nears completion, our shopping center has already solidified its status as an urban shopping metropolis in the heart of the community,” said Debora Overholt, vice president of retail at Swire Properties.
“Our multifaceted roster of global luxury and premium brands will no doubt position Brickell City Centre in the forefront of Miami’s retail evolution,” she added.
“Brickell City Centre will introduce a much needed, comprehensive retail market to serve Miami’s discerning shoppers,” said Courtney Lord, vice president of leasing for Whitman Family Development. “These shoppers will appreciate the diverse lineup of high-quality brands and open-air atmosphere of the retail component.”
The shopping center will seamlessly connect with Miami’s key transportation nodes. Swire Properties is incorporating a Miami Metromover stop that exits directly into the shopping center’s third floor to allow easy and convenient access. The shopping center will ease vehicle movement with an expansive two-story underground carpark that traverses streets in the lower level.
“Millions of international visitors are coming to Miami each year seeking a modernized shopping experience,” said Sharon Polonia, executive vice president of leasing at Simon. “Brickell City Centre is meeting this demand with its unparalleled selection of both pre-established and emerging brands, coming to North America for the first time from retail flagship cities throughout the globe.”
The newly revealed brands are fifth in a series of retail announcements for the $1.05 billion mixed-use project. Luxury brands Valentino and Chopard were announced thi past summer followed by contemporary brands Lululemon, Harmont & Blaine, Cole Haan, Illesteva and OndadeMar, and eateries Pubbelly Sushi, Pasión del Cielo, Quinto La Huella and Sugar. In August, Swire revealed Ted Baker, Agent Provocateur, 100% Capri, Addict, Vilebrequin, APM Monaco, Giuseppe Zanotti Design, La Perla, Bally and Kiton. Lastly, Acqua di Parma, IRO, Stuart Weitzman, Coach, Porsche Design, Michele Lopriore, Mirto, Adolfo Dominguez, Capritouch, Santa Maria Novella, Diptyque and Nest Casa were announced end of 2015.
Leading luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue has signed as Brickell City Centre’s anchor tenant and will occupy three floors of the shopping center with street-level access.
Brickell City Centre’s two condominium towers, two Class A office buildings, including one almost entirely leased by international law firm, Akerman, and its EAST, Miami Hotel, also will act as anchors for the shopping center, along with a luxury dine-in theater Cinemex.
Lastly, renowned traditional Uruguayan restaurant Quinto La Huella and signature rooftop bar Sugar, will both be opening at Brickell City Centre’s flagship hotel, EAST, Miami.
