Brickell World Plaza welcomed the holiday season with food and wine festival

Brickell World Plaza celebrated the start of the holiday season with more than 500 people attending the 2012 Savor the Season Festival last Saturday, November 17.

“We are very excited that our annual community festival, which featured food and wine from more than 20 of Miami’s finest restaurants, was a great success,” said Tracy Story president of leasing and management at Foram Group, the developer of 600 Brickell. “People were able to get in the holiday spirit while enjoying live entertainment on the 30,000 square foot plaza and taking part in 600 Brickell’s grand holiday lighting countdown for its signature 40-foot wreath.”

“Savor the Season was not only a fun time for the attendees, it also raised funds benefitting a number of local non-profit organizations,” said Ilene Munoz, general manager of 600 Brickell. All net proceeds went to the following local charities: The Ronald McDonald House of South Florida, The Crockett Foundation and Humane Society of Greater Miami. Each charity received $10,000.

The event was emceed by, “Public Address Voice of the Miami HEAT,” Michael Baiamonte.

Featured restaurants included: BARU Urbano, Brooklyn Italian Ice, Capital Grille, Chef Susan, Fado Irish Pub, Gordon Biersch, Parties By Pat, Pasha’s, Proximo Spirits, Rosa Mexicano, Taverna OPA, Mr. Pasta, Rice House of Kabob and many more.

Students from area schools exhibited original artwork, the all-girls choir from Our Lady of Lourdes Academy sang holiday classics and attendees enjoyed live music and contemporary dance performances.
