In preparation for Thanksgiving, Brightline partnered with the City of Miami to provide 500 turkeys to Overtown residents during the annual turkey giveaway hosted by the Overtown NET Office. Held at Dorsey Park in Overtown, 500 families received a Thanksgiving meal including turkeys, fresh local produce and a variety of sides.

“This is what Thanksgiving is all about, and we are proud to sponsor this event for the third year,” said Dave Howard, Brightline CEO.

“The Brightline team is delighted to continue our outreach to our neighbors and provide families with a delicious holiday meal this season.”

Brightline was proud to work in conjunction with City of Miami Commission chair Keon Hardemon, Overtown Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET), Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency, Richard Hallman Foundation, Jetro Cash and Carry, MEVAAP and Miami Worldcenter.

Brightline employees handed out the turkeys, produce and grocery supplies and greeted families along with other community volunteers. Residents of all ages were delighted to receive the Thanksgiving meal and many stayed to enjoy the great South Florida fall weather, listen to music and get to know one another.

“We are happy to have the support of Brightline in alleviating the financial burden on our families during the holiday season,” Hardemon said.
