Bryan Avila, a dedicated public servant and seasoned leader, is running for re-election to represent Florida Senate District 39. As a Republican incumbent, Avila’s commitment to making our community a better place for all is reflected in his long history of service, both as an officer in the Florida Army National Guard and a long-time state legislator.

Born and raised in Miami-Dade County, Avila’s deep roots in the community have shaped his approach to governance. After graduating from Miami Springs High School, he pursued higher education at Miami-Dade College and later earned degrees from the University of Miami. His passion for public service led him to obtain a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration from Florida International University.

Since his election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2014, Avila has tirelessly advocated for policies that improve the lives of Florida’s families. His legislative accomplishments have earned him widespread respect across party lines. He has championed tax cuts, improved educational opportunities, and expanded services for veterans and seniors. His record of public service and leadership continues as he seeks re-election in 2024, ensuring that the community’s needs remain at the forefront of Florida’s legislative agenda.

In his current term as Florida State Senator for District 39, Avila has played a key role in shaping critical policy through his involvement in various committees. He is the Chair of the Governmental Oversight and Accountability Committee and Collective Bargaining Committee, and he serves on the Senate Appropriations, Ethics and Elections, and Health Policy Committees. His leadership on these committees demonstrates his deep understanding of the complex issues facing the state, from fiscal responsibility to healthcare.

Avila’s connection to the community goes beyond his legislative work. As a resident of Miami Springs with his wife, Cindy, and two children, his commitment to improving the quality of life for all Florida residents is personal, as he works to ensure a prosperous future for his family and the many families in District 39.

Avila’s public service is marked by a clear vision for the future: a thriving economy, efficient governance, and a strong commitment to preserving Florida’s unique culture and environment. His ability to balance these priorities while maintaining fiscal responsibility makes him the ideal candidate to continue representing District 39 in the Florida Senate.

As Bryan Avila runs for re-election, his track record of effective leadership, dedication to the community, and strong conservative values the Community Newspapers editorial board believes he is the best choice to fight for Florida’s future — in Florida Senate District 39. Election day is November 5, 2024, and Avila is ready to continue serving the people of Florida with integrity, experience, and passion.
