Business leader, Civic Activist and Military veteran John Mills appointed President of HUBB AGRO.
Miami-based technology company HUBB Ventures (OTC Pink: HUBV) announced today that John Mills, former President of Redland Ahead has joined the company as President of HUBB Agriculture. Mills takes over the reins of HUBB Agriculture from HUBB Ventures President Jose Matto, who headed up the company for the past three years on an interim basis. As a 30-year US Army veteran, Mills served 3 combat tours and retired as a Colonel to create a civilian career focused on project management and agri-business. His civilian accomplishments range from serving as the Secretary of the Panama Canal Commission, where he implemented the successful transfer of the Panama Canal back to Panama to growing Watsco, Inc, a smaller publicly traded company.
As a key part of the leadership team, Watsco grew from $464 million to $3.1 billion in
annual revenues over ten years. Mills’ experience in agribusiness includes co-founding
Innovative Detection Concepts, where he led a team that trains canines to detect the
presence and treatment of an invasive fungus in avocado groves. Recently, he trained
dogs to detect people who are COVID19 positive. Those dogs are being deployed at
airports and sports venues throughout the U.S. Mills is also the founder of Redland Ahead, Inc., a 501-C3 non-profit, that supports agribusiness and provide services and opportunities to veterans and the underserved in South Florida. As President of HUBB Agriculture, Mills will be responsible for the day to day operations of the company and for the scheduled deployment of organic hydroponic greenhouses throughout the country.
“HUBB Agro has a novel approach to growing chemical-free, natural produce at triple
the yield of traditional farms” said Mills. “The appeal I saw was to employ our own
brand of technology in providing the nutrition, watering and atmospheric control in the
development these crops. Our goal is to revolutionize an industry that is an essential
component in providing us the nourishment we need.”
Mills believes present trends show that for companies to survive in the future, regardless of their size, they must expand their business models to include having an online presence. This change will allow them to grow their base, operate more securely and meet ongoing customer demands.
