Camillus House recently announced the appointment of Eddie Gloria as its chief executive officer.
Gloria, who has served as acting CEO since earlier this year, brings over 24 years of experience in nonprofit management and integrated systems of care to the role.
“I am deeply honored to lead Camillus House as CEO,” Gloria said. “The work we do profoundly changes the lives of those experiencing homelessness, and I’m eager to build on our successes to enhance our support for the community’s most vulnerable members, especially at a time when the need for our services has never been greater.
Gloria’s commitment to Camillus House spans over a decade. Between 2007 and 2018, he served in various leadership roles, including director of Strategy and Grants, vice president of Strategy and Housing Development, and chief operating officer from 2016 to 2018. As COO, he managed program and business operations across 11 locations in Miami-Dade County.
His leadership was instrumental in the development and management of Camillus’ 350,000-square-foot multi-use main campus, spearheading grant development initiatives, and overseeing vital operational areas such as IT, facilities, construction, security, and client support services. During his time with the organization, Gloria was key in expanding its reach and enhancing its impact.
Prior to rejoining Camillus House, Gloria served as CEO of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, where he successfully guided the organization through a period of significant growth during the global pandemic and multiple natural disasters. He also previously held the role of COO at the Alpha-1 Foundation in Coral Gables.
Gloria holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Florida International University. His early career experience includes public policy development and grants administration with the City of Miami, further enhancing his ability to lead community-driven initiatives.
As CEO, Gloria will continue advancing the mission of Camillus House, ensuring that the organization remains a cornerstone of support for individuals and families facing homelessness and poverty in South Florida.
