The Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC) is inviting young adventurers to set sail this spring with its Youth Sailing Camp, taking place March 23–27, 2026, at the club’s Instructional Center on scenic Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove.
Designed for children and teens ages 6 to 17, the week-long camp offers a safe, fun, and skills-focused introduction to sailing. Participants can choose from a range of programs tailored to their age and experience level, including Opti Sailing (ages 6–11), 420s and Lasers (ages 12–17), and Windsurfing (ages 6–17).
Billed as a safe, healthy, and energizing alternative to indoor camps, CGSC’s program runs daily from 9 to a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $495 per camper for the full week, and all youth programs are open to the public.
A Powerful Experience
Spring Break Camp is a great opportunity for kids to connect with fellow campers and reconnect with Biscayne Bay — and it’s also an ideal way to explore sailing for the first time in just one week.
“Spending Spring Break on the water isn’t just fun — it’s a powerful experience that builds skills, confidence, and lifelong memories,” said CGSC General Manager Lauren Simpson.
The program encourages kids to step outside their comfort zones, learn to safely handle a boat, and gain independence on the water. “Every small win — steering, balancing, navigating — builds real confidence quickly,” she adds.
It is also worth noting that CGSC’s Spring Break Camp often becomes the entry point to CGSC’s Greenfleet racing program, competitive sailing opportunities, and a lifelong love of the water.
With steady breezes and protected waters, CGSC’s waterfront setting provides an ideal environment for hands-on learning and outdoor recreation. In fact, Biscayne Bay is considered one of the best learning environments for young sailors in the country.
