Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Anthony Rodriguez has extended a message of collaboration and support to Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia and his office as they begin efforts to gather information from the Miami-Dade County government.

“As CFO Ingoglia and his team begin their information-gathering efforts, I want to personally welcome them and express my full support,” said Chairman Rodriguez. “We share the same goals – ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, improving operational transparency, and streamlining government functions.”

Since assuming the role of Chairman, Rodriguez has led a broad initiative to modernize County operations, with a strong emphasis on procurement reform, departmental efficiency, and legislative accountability.

As part of this initiative:

  • The Government Efficiency and Transparency Ad Hoc Committee was established to identify areas for innovation and improved oversight.
  • The Special Task Force to Reduce Inefficiencies in Procurement (STRIP) was created to tackle outdated processes and increase procurement effectiveness.
  • The Appropriations Committee, chaired by Commissioner Raquel Regalado, is actively working to ensure that every dollar in the County budget delivers measurable value to residents.

Highlighting the seriousness of the Commission’s efforts, Chairman Rodriguez has called a Committee of the Whole to convene on August 20, 2025 – a rare meeting outside the regular calendar. The focus of this session will be to identify immediate budget cuts and reduce government waste.

“I invite the CFO’s team to attend this critical meeting,” said Rodriguez. “It will offer valuable insights and underscore our commitment to transparency and results-driven governance.”

Chairman Rodriguez also encouraged close collaboration with Commissioner Raquel Regalado, Chair of the Appropriations Committee; Commissioner J.C. Bermudez, Chair of the Government Efficiency and Transparency Committee; and urged the CFO’s team to engage directly with all County Commissioners to gain a comprehensive understanding of operations across departments.

“Our Board stands ready to work with the CFO and his staff to improve efficiencies and deliver a more effective and fiscally responsible Miami-Dade County,” added Chairman Rodriguez.
