The Miami Marlins, alongside the City of Miami and Parks & Recreation Department, celebrated the restoration of murals honoring the Negro Leagues and Black history as part of the MLK Mural Project today. These murals, located at Dorsey Park, where Negro League teams played during the Jim Crow era, were defaced with hateful graffiti in June. Marlins President of Business Caroline O’Connor, Marlins Legend and 1997 World Series Champion Charles Johnson, City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Commissioner of District 5 Christine King, all spoke at the ceremony.
