City of Miami recognizes Coconut Grove Cowboys football team
Members of the Coconut Grove Cowboys football team are honored at a Miami City Commission meeting.

City of Miami Parks and Recreation, along with the City of Miami’s Commission on Jan. 11 recognized the Coconut Grove Cowboys 9U football team which won the Pop Warner Super Bowl National Championship in Division 2 on Dec. 8, 2023, in Orlando.

The Coconut Grove football team players have worked tirelessly throughout the season, honing their skills and improving their game. The result of their hard work and determination is a well-deserved victory in the championship game.

Miami Parks and the city commission saluted and recognized the team along with coaches and parents who were instrumental in cultivating a positive environment for success and representing Coconut Grove and the entire City of Miami.

“The team demonstrated great sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the season, and they truly deserve this win. We are incredibly proud of our young champions, and we want to congratulate them on their impressive achievement. This victory is a testament to their talent, hard work, and dedication to the sport,” said Chris Evans, Miami Parks director.
