Miami-Dade School Board vice chair Monica Colucci, District 8, partnered with Miami Commissioner Ralph Rosado, District 4, to host a Back-to-School Backpack and School Supplies Distribution event on Aug. 7 at Fairlawn Elementary School. The celebration brought together students, families, and community leaders to begin the 2025-26 school year.
Colucci and Rosado spent the morning greeting families and handing out 500 backpacks filled with school supplies, ensuring that every Fairlawn student had the essentials for a successful start to the school year.
“Making sure our students have what they need from day one of a new school year, sets the tone for success,” Colucci said. “When our community comes together to support our children, we show them that their achievement matters to all of us.”
This collaboration between the School Board of Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami highlights the positive impact local leaders can have when they join forces to support students and families.
