Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins has announced the Elevate Small Business Conference — a free, one-day event designed to empower local entrepreneurs with the tools, resources, and connections needed to grow their businesses. The conference will take place on Friday, Oct. 24, at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami.

What attendees can expect:
• Practical workshops on marketing, AI, financial planning, and more;
• Networking opportunities with business leaders, partners, and peers;
• Hands-on resources to help businesses scale and succeed, and
• The Market: a vibrant vendor marketplace featuring local small businesses.

The conference builds on the success of Elevate District 5, a program created by Commissioner Higgins in 2022 that has supported over 1,000 local businesses, hosted more than 50 training sessions, and awarded nearly 750 grants to entrepreneurs.

“As a former small business owner, I understand the real-world challenges entrepreneurs face — and what it takes to overcome them,” Commissioner Higgins said. “I saw that while the county and our partners offered valuable resources, many small businesses didn’t know they existed.

“At the same time, I recognized gaps — tools and support systems that weren’t yet available. That’s why I launched Elevate District 5 — to bridge those gaps and connect small business owners to opportunities, as well as to each other. The response has been remarkable, and this one-day conference will bring all of these resources, experts, and ideas together in one powerful, action-packed event.”

The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 24, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus, Chapman Conference Center, 300 NE Second Ave, Building 3, Second Floor, Room 3210. Cost is free (registration required at ElevateSmall.biz); light breakfast, boxed lunch, refreshments, and free Wi-Fi provided. Spanish and Haitian Creole available on a first-come, first-served basis.
