Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin hosts a Back-to-School Fair

City of North Miami Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin will host her 3rd Annual Back-to-School Fair on Sunday, August 8, 2021. The event will be hosted by Papa Keith, Radio Personality on 103.5 FM The Beat, and held at Cagni Park (located at 13599 NE 9th Avenue, North Miami, FL 33161) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Councilwoman Estimé-Irvin will host the Back-to-School Fair in collaboration with Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, Commissioner Jean Monestime, State Representative Christopher Benjamin, State Representative Dotie Joseph, 103.5 FM The Beat, and the Association of Haitian Educators of Dade. During the event, North Miami students from elementary to high school will receive complimentary backpacks filled with essential school supplies. The event will feature food trucks as well as food stations powered by Mr. Frosty, Mzs. Donuts, MIA Taste on Wheelz and Marol’s Corn. There will also be a video game truck, ponies that children may ride on site, and a variety of carnival rides including a giant slide. At the end of the event, multiple students will have the opportunity to win a free laptop for school by entering the Back-to-School Fair raffle. 

The event will also feature a coronavirus vaccination site sponsored by healthcare provider Comprehensive Health Center. Healthcare workers will administer Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to residents who wish to get vaccinated during the event. 

In an effort to follow COVID-19 safety protocols, there will be sanitary stations throughout Cagni Park. All guests will be required to wear a face mask and maintain social distance when making the line to receive backpacks. Adults must accompany children receiving backpacks and present a valid ID to enter the event. Backpacks will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
