Dade Heritage Trust recently hosted its annual Holiday Party at the historic residence of Miles Gilman and Christina Sun in Coconut Grove.

Originally designed in 1924 by famed architect Walter DeGarmo the home defines South Florida tropical elegance with its lush gardens. At the Dec. 13 event, guests were treated to great food, drinks and an exclusive home tour of this architectural gem.

“We are honored that Miles Gilman and Christina Sun opened their home to Dade Heritage Trust to not just celebrate the holidays, but also share some of its history,” said Christine Rupp, Dade Heritage Trust executive director.

Dade Heritage Trust (DHT) is Miami-Dade County’s largest preservation organization. Founded in 1972 as a grassroots organization to save and protect Miami-Dade County’s historic buildings, DHT’s mission is to preserve the community’s architectural, environmental and cultural heritage. Through a variety of programs, advocacy projects, special events, exhibits and presentations, DHT furthers the mission by engaging Miami-Dade residents and visitors in preservation education.
