Diana Mesa of Miami (standing, second from right) was among 12 members of the University of Scranton’s class of 2021, along with graduates from East Stroudsburg University, King’s College, Penn State Scranton and Wilkes University, who were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army during an in-person ceremony conducted on campus, May 29. Mesa majored in counseling and human services at the Jesuit university located in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
