At the conclusion of the 2020 U.S. Census, the Florida Legislature and Miami-Dade County’s local governments completed a process called “redistricting,” the redrawing of district lines to adjust for population growth rates.
As a result, voters’ representative(s), district number(s), or polling place may have changed. The Miami-Dade Elections Department’s role in this process is to ensure voters are placed in their proper districts for voting purposes and notify voters of any changes.
In preparation for the Aug. 23 primary election, all voters were mailed a new voter information card. Voters are invited to discard their old card and review their new card carefully to confirm which districts they are assigned to and that all their information is correct, including party affiliation. To vote in a partisan primary election, voters must have registered with a respective political party affiliation no later than Monday, July 25.
There are three convenient ways to vote. Vote by Mail, Early Voting, or at their assigned precinct on Election Day (listed on the Voter Information Card).

Aug. 13 – Last day to request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot
Aug. 8-Aug. 21 – Early Voting
Aug. 23 – Vote at your precinct on Election Day
