City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez has announced the appointment of Donny Wolfe as his new chief of staff.
Wolfe has an extensive background in government relations and process improvement.
Prior to his appointment, Wolfe served as the senior advisor to the city manager, where he successfully managed special projects for the head of the administration and led the city’s government relations team. During his tenure, Wolfe secured a record-breaking $62 million in grants and appropriations for Miami in Tallahassee and Washington, DC within a short span of two years.
Wolfe’s experience also includes serving as a Miami-Dade County Commission Legislative Aide before being recruited by Jackson Health System’s president, Carlos Migoya, to help turn around the then $1.7 billion-a-year county enterprise.
As a Miami native, Wolfe returned home after earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law. His local roots and diverse skillset serve the City of Miami and particularly the Mayor’s Office well in his new role.
“I am confident that Donny’s experience and proven success at the local, state, and federal levels of government, as well as his ability to manage complex projects and identify and secure funding will be an asset to the city,” Mayor Suarez said. “We share a passion in improving our community and look forward to working with him to continue to move Miami forward.”
As chief of staff, Wolfe will work closely with the mayor and city manager to develop and implement policies, manage the city’s daily operations, and represent the city in interactions with other government entities.
