Dr. Eric Cohen, PA has announced the addition of a new doctor, his son Dr. Scott Cohen, to join his team of professional health providers at the Cohen Chiropractic Wellness Center in Kendall.
Dr. Eric Cohen has dedicated the past 37 years to unleashing the innate power of the body to heal itself and restoring a healthier state of equilibrium. Normal spinal balance could add energy, vitality and maximize the body’s potential to heal itself. The fostering of healthy lifestyle choices that promote wellness for his patients is something his son Scott has witnessed since childhood.
Following his father’s path into chiropractic healthcare was an easy choice for Scott. He became inspired to help people at his father’s side. Scott would spend time in Dr. Cohen’s office watching him work with patients that often included young children.
“You could say that I was born into it” the younger Dr. Cohen said looking up at a framed photograph of himself at age 2 receiving an adjustment from his dad.
The Drs. Cohen address the needs of the whole person by using adjusting techniques that are focused on an individual’s body function. In the effort to get a patient to wellness, they also work to integrate various factors including improving the patient’s posture, strengthening weak muscles and targeting nutritional needs. Their course of treatment is a three-step process that begins with relief from pain and dysfunction, followed by corrective restorative care, and finally, a program of wellness for maximizing your body’s performance and optimal well being.
Chiropractic healthcare is concerned with disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the impact these disorders have on a person’s health and wellbeing. It addresses complaints such as headaches, back pain, neck pain, and pain in the joints of the arms and legs.
The central concept of chiropractic healthcare is to listen to your body’s innate intelligence and regain normal spinal mobility that may have been adversely-affected by injury, stress, strain, poor posture or inactivity. Using specific chiropractic adjusting techniques the irritation of the spinal nerve are reduced and better balance and integrity is restored to the body.
“It is all linked to the central nervous system, which controls and coordinates the function of every cell, tissue and organ of the body,” Dr. Eric Cohen said.
The professionals at Cohen Chiropractic Wellness Center adhere to the definition of health as described by the World Health Organization: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
To that end, Drs. Eric and Scott Cohen offer treatment that work in concert with chiropractic, such as trigger point massage, state-of-the-art physiotherapy procedures, nutritional counseling, and acupuncture.
Both Drs. Cohen are graduates of Logan University’s College of Chiropractic, located in Chesterfield, MO.
