Eight distinguished M-DCPS grads inducted into Alumni Hall of Fame

Eight renowned and celebrated graduates of Miami-Dade’s public schools have been inducted into Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (M-DCPS) Alumni Hall of Fame for their post-secondary and professional achievements.

With the addition of this year’s inductees, the number of Alumni Hall of Fame members rises to 68. They are examples of the extraordinary talent cultivated in our public schools and now shining on the national stage.

Joining the ranks of esteemed alumni who reflect the rich history of Miami-Dade’s schools and representing the Class of 2025 are the following:
Kris Anderson, Miami Central Senior High Class of 1994 Weekday morning news anchor for NBC6 South Florida; former anchor for ABC and CBS Television; six-time Emmy Award-winning journalist; graduate of Florida International University.

Adrianne Calvo, G. Holmes Braddock Senior High Class of 2002; celebrity chef and restauranteur; author of #Maximum Flavor; recipient of Floridian Culinary Best Chef Award; graduate of Johnson & Wales University.

Marshall Davis Sr., Miami Northwestern Senior High Class of 1968; managing director of the Marshall L. Davis Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center; former Miami-Dade County Public Schools teacher; multi-award winner for Leadership in the Field of Arts and Culture; graduate of Florida Atlantic University.

Michelle Delancy, Miami Southridge Senior Class of 1988; Miami-Dade County 11th Judicial Circuit Court Judge; AV Preeminent Rated Commercial and Criminal Trial Attorney; former managing partner at Delancy Law, PA; graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Miami School of Law.

Bobby Flam, Miami Beach Senior High Class of 1963; Owner of Jumbo’s Restaurant “A Civil Rights Landmark”; James Beard Foundation Award recipient; graduate of the University of Florida and University of Illinois.

René Garcia, Hialeah Senior High Class of 1993; Miami-Dade County Commissioner; former state representative and state senator;

Founder of HOPE Mission Inc.; graduate of Florida International University and the University of Miami.

Jamar Roberts, New World School of the Arts Class of 2001; former Director’s Fellow at NYU’s Center for Ballet and the Arts; former resident choreographer of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre; recipient of the Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer; graduate of The Ailey School.

Donald Slesnick II, Miami Senior High Class of 1961; managing partner at Law Offices of Slesnick & Casey LLP; former mayor of the City of Coral Gables; 79th president and chair of the Orange Bowl Committee; graduate of Florida International University, University of Florida and University of Virginia.
