In conjunction with Art Basel 2016, artist Elisabetta Fantone, a multifaceted international painter, actress, model and author, exhibited her latest collection, “Imaginibus,” in the Wynwood Arts District from Dec. 1to 4, and revealed her exclusively designed Corum “Bubble” watch during a VIP cocktail reception on Dec. 2.

A world premiere event, the “Imaginibus” exhibition opened with over 20 pieces depicting her blend of modern appeal and vintage fashion.

In collaboration with high-end European luxury watch manufacturer Corum, Fantone also showcased her handcrafted design for the Corum “Bubble” watch collection, first introduced in 2000 and modeled after the 1960 Rolex Deep Sea Special watch.

The artist’s limited edition timepiece reflects one of the most recognizable portraits in history: the Mona Lisa. The muse’s distinctive smile, surrounded by a modern collage, peaked out from behind the watch’s gem-like, curved crystal lens. Influenced by the Mona Lisa’s permanent home in Paris, the watch made its debut in an encasing of the Louvre’s Pyramid, a modern gateway to the world of classic art.

Fantone’s colorfully iconic art has been compared to the likes of Andy Warhol’s greatest works. Many of the world’s biggest celebrities including Muhammad Ali, Celine Dion and the Kardashians have commissioned pieces of Fantone’s multi-hued acrylic portraits reminiscent of the pop art movement.

Her intricate and colorful paintings are showcased in some of the world’s most prestigious galleries and private collections. For Art Basel 2015, Fantone painted a mural in Wynwood titled Crimes Against Art, featuring the portraits of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol posing for their fictional mug shots. The year before, Elisabetta painted the widely revered mural titled The Affair, portraying the controversial love affair between John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe.

Aside from painting Elisabetta has notable credits in the realm of film, television, modeling, music and literature. A highlight of her productions include: the role of Marta in the Golden Globe Award winning film Big Eyes directed by Tim Burton, the noir-mystery feature Havana 57, and the lead role in the feature My Name is Sandy, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
