Robert Longfield, Greater Miami Symphonic Band music director, will conduct the family holiday concert, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” on Sunday, Dec. 11, 4 p.m., in the Banyan Bowl at Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 Red Rd. in Pinecrest, featuring many classic holiday compositions including a sing-along led by Susie Blank Wolfe.
A second holiday concert, “Tis the Season,” is scheduled Tuesday, Dec. 13, 8 p.m., at Gusman Concert Hall, 1314 Miller Dr. on University of Miami campus, Coral Gables.
The concerts will feature the ever-so-popular Bells of St. Andrews Handbell Choir. Gary Green, former music director of the GMSB will return as guest conductor. Musical selections will include Christmas on Broadway; Hanukkah Festival (medley); Leroy Anderson’s Christmas Festival and Sleigh Ride, plus Alfred Reed’s Russian Christmas Music, based on Russian melodies: Carol of the Little Russian Children, Antiphonal Chant, Village Song, and Cathedral Chorus. Green will conduct this from a score used and signed by the composer Alfred Reed himself.

Tickets — $20 for adults, $5 for students with ID and children over age 5 — may be ordered online in advance at www.GMSB.org or at the box office the night of the concert. Cash, check and major credit cards accepted.
