Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami celebrates 65 years, names new officers

Celebrating tremendous success on its 65th anniversary, the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami has been the premier local organization for all professionals involved in the estate planning process.

Since 1949, the esteemed non-profit group has conducted the highest quality estate planning programs, educating its members and fostering professional awareness to the public.

“Those seeking estate planning advice now should view council membership as a reliable credential evidencing a professional’s good judgment, skill, and competence,” said Bob Landon, 1990-91 president.

One of the oldest local organizations, the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami attributes its success to the shared best practices and collaborations of estate planning professionals. The following new executive team members and Executive Committee members have been appointed for the 2014-15 year:
Executive officers: Barry A. Givner of First National Bank of South Miami, president;
Charles Bennett Sachs of Private Wealth Counsel Inc., president-elect;
Adam Schucher of Bloomgarden Goudreau & Rosn PA, vice president;
Donald A. Kress of Kress Consulting LLC, secretary;
Howard B. Lucas of Goldstein Schechter Koch, treasurer, and
Patrick Lannon of Bilzin Sumberg, immediate past president.

Executive Committee members: Alex Bahamonde of Fiduciary Trust; Cynthia L. Beamish of University of Miami; Susan M. Cahill of GenSpring Family Offices; Sharon Quinn Dixon of Stearns Weaver Miller Alhadeff & Sitterson PA; Philip Herzberg; Mitchell A. Hipsman of Packman Neuwahl & Rosenberg; Elaine King of WE Family Offices; Leif G.
