Exhibition pays tribute to Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa

Making its U.S. premiere, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Art Gallery System celebrated the opening of “Mona Lisa Unveiled,” an extraordinary exhibition inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic portrait, the Mona Lisa. The exhibition showcases various interpretations of the classic, created by artists around the world and dating from the 16th Century to modern day. The artwork will remain on display through October 7, and the exhibition is free and open to the public during gallery hours. Pictured at the opening are (l-r) City of Margherita di Savoia (Italy) Mayor Gabriella Carlucci; Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado; Italian Consul General Marco Rocco, and Alessandro Vezzosi, curator and director of the Museo Ideale Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, the exhibition’s permanent home. Mayors Carlucci and Regalado signed a Collaborative Agreement between the two cities.
