GBMRO to host group’s inaugural Glioblastoma Summit, Nov. 1-3

The Glioblastoma Research Organization (GBMRO), a nonprofit organization raising awareness and funds for cutting-edge research to find a cure for glioblastoma, is hosting its inaugural Glioblastoma Summit, a three-day event aimed at connecting the glioblastoma community.

The summit will take place Nov. 1-3 in Miami, commencing with a welcome sunset reception at Arlo Wynwood, the event’s host hotel, followed by two days of groundbreaking keynotes and engaging panel discussions at The Sacred Space Miami, a wellness destination for soul healing, connectivity, spiritual and physical nourishment, and education.

The Sacred Space seeks to elevate.

During the summit, attendees will be able to learn about glioblastoma research advancements and updates in the field, listen to panel discussions with the world’s best neurosurgeons and neuro-oncologists, participate in live Q&A sessions, engage in specialized breakout rooms, and connect with fellow glioblastoma patients, caretakers and community members.

Confirmed speakers include Dr. Randy S. D’Amico, MD, assistant professor of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital; Dr. David Langer, MD, chair of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and vice president of neurosurgery for Northwell Health’s Western Region; Dr. John Boockvar, MD, vice chair of the department of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, featured on Netflix’s Emergency NYC and Lenox Hill; Dr. Netanel Ben-Shalom, MD, FNPS, neurosurgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital, internationally recognized as the world’s first neurosurgeon to complete the Johns Hopkins Neuroplastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship; Dr. Rebecca M. Brown, MD, PhD, neuro-oncology assistant professor at Mount Sinai Hospital; Dr. Morana Vojnic, MD, oncology specialist at Northwell Health Cancer Institute; Dr. Ronit Gilad, MD, neurosurgeon at Northwell Health; Dr. Soriaya Motivala, MD, neurosurgeon at Northwell Health; Dr. Kyle Walsh, PhD, associate professor of neurosurgery and pathology and director of the division of neuro-epidemiology at Duke University School of Medicine and a senior fellow in the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development; Dr. Steven Millward, PhD, assistant professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Dr. Michael E. Ivan, MD, MBS, FAANS, neurosurgeon and scientist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and co-director of neurosurgery at Jackson South Medical Center; Dr. Ashish Shah, MD, assistant professor of neurological surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine; Dr. Javad Nazarian, MS, PhD, investigator at the Center for Genetic Medicine Research at Children’s National Hospital and assistant professor of integrative systems biology at The George Washington University; Dr. Vidya Gopalakrishnan, PhD, associate professor of pediatrics research and molecular and cellular oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Dr. Macarena de la Fuente, MD, associate professor of neurology and chief of the Neuro-Oncology Division at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and clinical service leader for the neuro-oncology service line at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center; Dr. Imran Mohiuddin, MD, PhD, medical oncologist with AdventHealth Medical Group, and Dr. Vikash Modi, medical director of preventive medicine at Prenuvo.
