StretchLab, a global leader in assisted stretching, recently debuted in Miami. The Magic City’s first StrechLab studio is located in Midtown at 140 NE 32 St.

Stretchlab will introduce people of all ages and fitness levels to the various health and wellness benefits of working with highly trained Flexologists in an open, modern, fun, and approachable environment.

StretchLab Miami Midtown belongs to the ownership and leadership of local resident, Agnes Pierre-Louis. Pierre-Louis has over 15 years of international experience in the tourism and leisure industries through operations, development, and consultancy roles. As a wellness resort consultant, she specialized in assessing luxury and eco-resort projects, gaining valuable insights into emerging trends in the wellness industry.

An emerging trend that has gained significant traction as of late is resilience, the ability to optimally perform physically and mentally despite changes, including aging and environment. Trainers of professional athletes, and therapists of professionals whose careers depend on their physical condition, are spending more time and energy with their clients on injury prevention as well as physical recovery phases. Stretching is a primary component, and assisted stretching makes the modality that much more effective.

“Assisted stretching was not only on-trend, but something that spoke to me personally,” Pierre-Louis said. “I practiced ballet while growing up in Haiti and learned that stretching helped me reduce stress and increase productivity. I gave up dance when I moved to Paris for further education. While I never pursued dancing again, I have always missed it and only years later found yoga to require a similar discipline around balance. Most people recognize the importance of stretching, but not everyone feels comfortable in a dance or yoga studio.”

StretchLab stands out due to its personalized and inclusive approach, catering to virtually everyone. The brand’s Flexologists hold a nationally recognized certificate in assisted stretching, as the Flexologist Training Program is accredited by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, a first in the field of assisted stretching and something no other brand offers.

Memberships include monthly memberships for four, eight or 12 visits per month, as well as package options and individual stretch sessions as well. But the magic of StretchLab is not limited to the expertise of the certified Flexologists.

“What won me over was the body-focused technology that StretchLab is applying to the practice for the first time Pierre-Louis said. “It’s why I believe it will be a valuable specialized resource for the Midtown community, which has already developed as a boutique fitness hub.”

The Miami Midtown studio also offers the MAPS machine. Proprietary MAPS technology (Mobility, Activation, Posture, and Symmetry) identifies movement inefficiencies across these four critical categories as users perform three body-weight squats. A MAPS score is created in less than 30 seconds utilizing 3D technology to perform a total body movement assessment. Results are delivered on-screen and via email, creating a “roadmap” with which StretchLab Flexologists can guide their clients’ progress. This combination of the personal touch and the application of technology creates a customized goal-driven movement plan and offers a measurable way for clients to see their improved flexibility.
