Something big is happening at the Humane Society of Greater Miami.
Dec. 1 marked the first day of the inaugural “Paw”liday Advent Calendar at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center.
It’s a sight to see — and you can visit every day, except Mondays, until Dec. 24 to open the day’s advent window and redeem a free goodie while supplies last.
The Soffer and Fine Adoption Center is located at 16101 W. Dixie Hwy. in North Miami Beach.
The calendar is to celebrate a year of lifesaving work by giving back to the amazing community of supporters. Humane Society of Greater Miami gives special thank you to its sponsors: Purina, Audacy, Chai Tees, ChenMed, Miami Parking Authority, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Papa John’s, Pet Supermarket, Tijuana Flats, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and Zoo Miami.
The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a limited admit, adoption guarantee facility dedicated to placing every dog and cat in its care into a loving home, and to promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs. Adoption guarantee means that every animal that is admitted to the shelter is free from the threat of euthanasia due to time, space, or treatable medical issues.
It provides shelter, food, veterinary care, and plenty of TLC while the dogs and cats wait for their permanent home, no matter how long it takes. The organization has been helping homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. It offers programs and services to educate, inform, and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and treat animals with the kindness they deserve. It is a private, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable animal welfare organization supported by its programs and services, as well as donations, private grants and fundraising events.
