This holiday season, Miami-Dade County Animal Services brings back its cherished “Home for the Holidays” campaign, offering a heartfelt opportunity to provide a shelter pet with the loving home it deserves.
Throughout December, adoption fees will be waived for dogs and cats ages four months and older. For those looking to adopt, puppies are available for $85 and kittens for $35; adopters also will be responsible for a $30 dog licensing fee.
“All animals deserve to feel the love and comfort of a home, especially during the holiday season,” said Annette Jose, director of Miami-Dade Animal Services. “By opening your heart and home to a shelter pet, you not only transform their life but also enrich your own.
Whether you choose to adopt or foster, this season presents a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact for an animal in need.”
With more than 600 pets currently awaiting homes in the shelter, this holiday season is the perfect time to offer a safe and nurturing environment to an animal in need. By adopting or fostering a pet, you can help alleviate shelter overpopulation and ensure that these animals experience the warmth and comfort of a loving home. Even short-term fostering can make a tremendous difference, providing a pet with a peaceful holiday while they await their forever family.
All adopted pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ready to embark on a new journey in a loving home.
Visit the Pet Adoption and Protection Center, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Offsite adoption events will be taking place throughout the month, and details can be found on Animal Services’ website.
