The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has named Estefani Aguirre and Taryn Mesa to join the organization’s convention sales team, serving the bureau’s mission of promoting Greater Miami and Miami Beach as one of the world’s premier destinations for business, meetings and conventions.

Aguirre joins the GMCVB as a director of Midwest convention sales, based in Chicago. Her career spans more than 15 years, with notable leadership roles in renowned sales organizations such as Hinton + Grusich, American Association of Diabetes Educators, ALHI, Smithbucklin and most recently, as vice president of business development for Meeting Professionals International (MPI).

Mesa brings a wealth of experience in marketing and promotions to her role as hotel industry relations manager. Previous positions at Miami New Times, Miami Children’s Museum and Topgolf ready her with a diverse skill set in community and partner engagement, managing marketing campaigns and social media outreach.

“We’re delivering on providing our convention sales team the depth needed to continually enhance the exceptional services we provide to our clients for a destination that builds on its accolades such as ‘Food City of the Year’ by Bon Appetit and a Cvent top meeting location,” said David Whitaker, GMCVB president and CEO.

“Estefani’s vast sales experience, combined with a comprehensive understanding of the meetings and conventions industry, is invaluable to us in driving growth and expanding our reach throughout the Midwest. Taryn’s expertise will be instrumental in fostering even stronger relationships with our hotel partners and growing collaborative efforts between the local visitor industry and stakeholders.
