The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has named Donna Del Gallo senior regional director of convention sales.
In her new role with the leading Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), Del Gallo will promote Miami and Miami Beach as a premier destination for conventions and meetings, focusing on the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets.
“We are thrilled Donna is joining the GMCVB. Her DMO sales and marketing experience makes her the ideal candidate to lead our efforts in the region,” said Carol Motley, senior vice president of Convention Sales & Services. “She brings an especially impressive track record in key markets such as the U.S., Aruba and Puerto Rico, and will be key to our mission of driving meetings and conventions business to Miami and Miami Beach.”
Del Gallo brings more than 25 years’ experience in the travel and tourism industry to the GMCVB. Most recently, she served as director of citywide accounts for the San Francisco Travel Association, where she developed new business initiatives in Maryland; Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Prior to that, she was associate vice president of convention sales for the D.C. office of Discover the Palm Beaches. Del Gallo also has an extensive background in leading sales initiatives for the Aruba Convention Bureau and Discover Puerto Rico.
“I’m excited and eager to join the GMCVB team and focus on attracting meetings and conventions to Miami and Miami Beach,” said Del Gallo. “I look forward to working closely with Carol Motley and the rest of an extraordinary Convention Sales team, helping solidify Miami as a world-class destination to live, work and play.”
Del Gallo holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech – Pamplin College of Business.
