Goodwill employee receives Achiever of the Year Award
Robert Panteleo

Robert Pantaleo, 33, who recently received the Goodwill Achiever of the Year Award, is a dedicated Goodwill employee who started attending Goodwill South Florida’s Adult Day Training program in August 2017, where he learned to sort Lego brand pieces from non-Lego brand pieces. Robert, who has autism, took such interest in his new skill of sorting Legos that he even taught other program participants how to differentiate the pieces. He was so good at this skill that in March 2018, Robert began working part-time for Goodwill’s E-Commerce Department. Two years later, he officially was transferred to the department as a Material Handler, making $10 an hour. As a result of his sorting expertise, Robert helped contribute to more than 1,000 sold Lego listings on the E-Commerce website and helped Goodwill Industries bring in over $47,000 in sales in 2020. Robert has learned important work habits and continues to improve. His supervisors describe him as a dedicated, hard worker who not only excels in but loves his job.
