Partnering to meet the vision for development projects to meet the vision for more pedestrian-friendly areas in Wynwood, Block Capital Group and Kushner Companies hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Mar. 11 for new development projects WYND 27 and WYND 28.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Wynwood BID chair Albert Garcia, along with other city officials, partners, and friends were in attendance for the event in the heart of Miami’s most eclectic urban neighborhood, just west of Biscayne Boulevard’s Edgewater district.
“We are excited to break ground on WYND 27 + WYND 28, which we believe will play an important role in bringing to life the incredible vision of the Wynwood Streetscape Master Plan,“ said Martin Miculitzki, CEO of Block Capital Group.
BCG has been actively involved in Wynwood for more than 10 years with multiple projects that have helped shaped the neighborhood.
“We understand that the transformation of this unique neighborhood is a community effort.
This is why we are so grateful to everyone who has been instrumental in helping us bring these projects to life,” Miculitzki added.
Recognized globally as a premier destination for art, fashion, innovation, and creative enterprise, Wynwood also boasts one of the largest open-air street-art installations in the world.
Plans for WYND 27 and WYND 28 include a combination of 152 apartments, 46,000 square feet of office space, 33,500 square feet of retail space, and 232 parking spaces in buildings between five and eight stories, including three rooftops and various private and public outdoor spaces.
“This project is poised to mesh into the unparalleled Wynwood context and culture, while at the same time expand the vision and limits of this neighborhood with a tremendous addition of creative office, retail, and public space,” said Nicole Kushner Meyer, principal, Kushner. “We are thrilled to break ground on WYND 27 and 28 together with our esteemed partners, Block Capital Group.”
