Kicking off fun in February, Coral Gables Community Foundation’s Tour of Kitchens returns on Saturday, Feb. 6, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering participants an opportunity to see the inside of the city’s most beautiful kitchens.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Coral Gables Community
Foundation and, appropriately, the Culinary Arts Fund, which provides support and scholarships for the Culinary Arts Program at Coral Gables Senior High School.
Chaired by Venny Torre, CEO of Torre Construction and Development, the 2016 Tour of Kitchens might inspire you to redesign your own kitchen while sampling tempting tastings from the Gables’ best restaurants such as MesaMar Seafood & Table, Whisk Gourmet, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza and more.
From viewing kitchens and lovely table settings to shopping for some great home goods, this self-guided tour begins with a visit to Snaidero Kitchens + Design for an Opening Event featuring breakfast and mimosas plus a visit to Scavolini Store Miami for authentic Italian fare.
Following the tour, guests will return to Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery to enjoy champagne and dessert during the closing event.
Registration is $60 per person and can be done online at www.gablesfoundation.org or by phone by calling 305-446-9670. A 10 percent discount on any Majestic Limos vehicle with your own private driver and a complimentary bottle of champagne is available by calling 305-446-9670. Those wishing to “bike” it should contact Deborah Swain at 305-496-2374 or by email at dswain@milianswain.com by Feb. 4.
That same day, those with young children will want to enjoy the GFWC Coral Gables Woman’s Club Children’s Festival at their clubhouse, 1009 E. Ponce de Leon Blvd., from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. Ruth Martinez who chairs this event promises another funfilled day for children that is both educational and entertaining.
Coral Gables Woman’s Club members come off of that festival to make final preparations for an even bigger affair the following Saturday as they host an elegant Black & White Gala at their beautiful historic clubhouse. Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing, open bar, silent auction and more. Tickets are only $75 per person with all proceeds benefitting the club’s free Children’s Dental Clinic that provides in excess of $250,000.00 in free dental care annually to children in need.
