Members of the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig rolled up their sleeves and gave back to Miami-Dade County charities with the second-annual “GT Cares” community service initiative during the week of Apr. 5-12.
Teams of Greenberg Traurig attorneys and business staff members donated the funds, supplies, and manpower for several volunteer opportunities benefiting local philanthropic causes, each led by a “GT Hero” — an attorney who serves as a board member of the nonprofit sponsor organization.
The teams capped off the week of community service with a “Build Day” at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami’s newest community, Habitat Landings in South Miami Heights, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 12. Habitat for Humanity provides low-income families with affordable homeownership opportunities.
GT Hero Adam Foslid, Shareholder in the Litigation Practice Group and Co-Hiring Shareholder for the Miami office, serves on the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity.
During the “GT Cares” Week, the firm also raised $5,752 for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida to grant the wish of a local Miami girl battling leukemia to go on a Disney cruise.
Other volunteer projects undertaken during GT Cares benefited His House Children’s Home in partnership with Voices For Children Foundation; Honey Shine. and Children’s Home Society of Florida.
