Holiday ballet brings world class prima ballerinas to Miami, December 29-30

World renowned prima ballerinas from Ballet Opera de Paris, Royal Ballet of London, New York City Ballet, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company from Israel, American Ballet Company, Martha Graham and more will perform December 29 and 30, 7 p.m., at Adrienne Arsht Center.  This unique star-studded holiday event comes to Miami for the first time and is one you will not want to miss presented by the Ballet Support Foundation. 

The Prima Ballerina of Royal Ballet of London Natalia Osipova will perform a World Premiere “Her Dreams” music by Tchaikovsky and choreography by Jason Kittelberger. Etoiles from Opera de Paris will performs signature masterpieces duets from Manon and Le Park. Israel Dancers will come from the war zone to perform and share their talents in contemporary dance first time in Miami! Ukrainian born Prima Ballerina of American Ballet Theater Christine Shevchenko and her dance partner Aran Bell will perform White Swan Lake pas de deux , the most famous classical ballet and Neo Classical Summer Pas by extraordinary Alexey Ratmansky! 

A unique masterpiece piece, Lucifer, created by Martha Graham for Rudolf Nureyev will be performed by Lloyd Knight.   Ballet Support Foundation is promoting young talent and guests will see the Joffrey Ballet school students YAGP winners who will perform duet, Reflection. 

Of course, the Nutcracker will be in the program. Twenty-two year old Mira Nadon, the youngest New York City Ballet Prima Ballerina and her dance partner, Peter Walker, will perform Nutcracker pas de deux and Rodeo by Justin Peck. 

Ballet Support foundation is raising funds to help a dances from Ukraine, Israel, producing new shows , masterclasses , summer programs and more.

A graduate of the University of Florida with a major in Spanish, Burns has an extensive background in advertising, marketing and reciprocal trade, travel , non profit consulting and management. Before joining Miami's Community Newspapers as a columnist and marketing specialist, Gloria was the Executive Director of the Jr. Orange Bowl Committee (6 yrs.) and first Executive Director of the Coral Gables Community Foundation (14 yrs.) and the Pinecrest Community Foundation (1 ½ yrs) . Burns' volunteer activities led her to become a columnist for Community Newspapers writing Gloria’s Gab, that focuses on the non-profit activity, and a host of an online show, Gloria's Gab LIVE. Gloria serves the board of the Rotary Club of Coral Gables as Civic and Charity Chair, and is involved in the club's International Committee. She is an active Life Member of the Jr. Orange Bowl Committee and is Secretary of the Merrick Festival. She serves on the board of directors of the Coral Gables Woman' Club as Publicity Chair and also coordinates the club's monthly fundraiser for various charities with Gringo Bingo at Clutch Burger. In addition, Gloria participates in numerous other charitable events and is a member of the Business Forum Group, Profit Inc., the Greater Miami Festival & Events Association and the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. In other volunteer activity, Gloria helps Miami Christian School with fund-raising and PR; is an Ambassador and volunteers for events for A Safe Haven for Newborns. She is an active member of the Music Ministry at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she enjoys singing in the choir every weekend.
