Hoof Beats: Where horses, health and good music come together

Good Hope Equestrian Training Center Inc. has announced that on Saturday, Apr. 27, in celebration of its 14th Anniversary, it is hosting “Hoof Beats,” its annual charity and fundraising concert at the Performing Arts Exchange (PAX) located just west of Brickell Avenue on SW Eighth Street.

The music-filled evening will commemorate years of providing the community with rehabilitative equine-assisted programs benefiting children, youth and adults while at the same time raising the much-needed funds that will enable the organization to continue provided rehabilitative care in the future.

The event will feature live music by The Bushmen and Suenalo, two of the hottest bands in South Florida; contests,; a silent auction, fabulous finger foods, and cocktails.

As Miami-Dade County’s only equine program accredited by PATH, the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, which has designated the Good Hope Equestrian Center as a “Premier” rehabilitative facility, Good Hope provides high quality rehabilitative services that meet the health, recreational and employability needs of the disabled community.

It has achieved national recognition as evidenced by a feature story aired on NBC Nightly News in its Making A Difference Report which featured the restorative power of the program and the impact that the unconditional love and nonjudgmental nature of horses have on the rehabilitation process.
