The Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID) is teaming up with Freebee, South Florida’s all-electric transportation service, to launch a new way to move through Miami’s Arts District.
Freebee’s hot pink Volkswagen ID vans will offer free, on-demand rides across Wynwood’s 54-block neighborhood. Now through Nov. 15, the eye-catching, sustainable vans will hit the streets to connect visitors and locals with Wynwood’s galleries, restaurants, boutiques and world-famous street art, all without the hassle of parking.
“We’re excited to partner with the Wynwood BID to bring Freebee’s on-demand service to this thriving neighborhood,” said Jason Spiegel, managing partner of Freebee. “This collaboration is focused on improving mobility, supporting local businesses and contributing to Wynwood’s sustainable growth. We’re proud to be part of this dynamic community and look forward to helping it continue to flourish.”
The service will run Mondays through Wednesdays from noon to 7 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. Riders can catch a ride by hailing the vans on the street or requesting pickup through the Freebee app, available on iOS and Android devices.
“The Wynwood Business Improvement District is thrilled to partner with Freebee to provide free transportation in and around the 54-square block district,” said David Lombardi, chair of the Wynwood BID. “Wynwood is known for its creativity, color and energy, and these hot pink vans capture all of that while making the neighborhood easier to explore. This partnership with Freebee gives visitors and locals a fun, sustainable way to experience everything Wynwood has to offer — without the stress of parking.”
