It’s a milestone worth wagging a tail over. The Humane Society of Greater Miami is turning 90, and to celebrate, the organization will host “90 Years of Tails and Triumphs,” a birthday party on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, from 7 to 11 p.m., in the stunning new Pearl Ballroom at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
Since 1936, the Humane Society of Greater Miami has been there for pets and families in need. From humble beginnings in a garage, to becoming one of South Florida’s leading animal welfare organizations. Now, 90 years later, the nonprofit is inviting the community to join the party that celebrates a legacy of compassion, second chances, and wagging tails.
“Reaching 90 years is a remarkable milestone, not only for our organization but for the community we serve,” said Jossie Aguirre, executive director of the Humane Society of Greater Miami. “Our 90th anniversary campaign is about honoring our history, celebrating the lives we’ve touched, and building the future of animal welfare in Miami-Dade. The ‘90 Years of Tails and Triumphs’ birthday event will be the official launch of this yearlong celebration.”
Get ready for a night of celebration, compassion, and a little bit of mischief. Guests will sip craft cocktails, nibble on hors d’oeuvres, dance the night away, and bid on an amazing auction packed with one-of-a-kind finds. This birthday celebration begins the 90th anniversary campaign, launching a year of playful events, community initiatives, and fundraising fun that will help pets in Miami for decades to come.
Proceeds from “90 Years of Tails and Triumphs” birthday celebration will directly support the Humane Society of Greater Miami’s lifesaving programs and services, helping ensure a more compassionate community where every pet has a loving, forever home.
