Miami’s iconic King Mango Strut, born out of a parody of the King Orange Bowl Jamboree Parade, is making a grand return for the 41st year.
Don’t miss this unforgettable event, as the magic that is the King Mango Strut, descends on the streets of Coconut Grove on Sunday, Jan. 5, beginning at 2 p.m.
This beloved event is not only one of the most well-known whimsical and wacky Miami traditions, it also has been putting the “nut” in Coconut Grove since 1982, attracting countless spectators each year.
This year’s theme – Peace. Love. Mangoes. – promises the same whimsy and exuberance that devoted strutters and parade lovers come to expect. The event promises to be bigger and better than ever with a dazzling mix of colorful costumes, outrageous floats, and live music while never losing touch with its eccentric, bohemian roots.
The Strut now attracts more than 10,000 onlookers who laugh, cheer, and dance along with the hundreds of Strutters who march in the parade. All are welcome to watch or participate in this free event if they do so with an open heart and mind, and are willing to poke fun at the year’s notable current events. The parade will wind its way through the heart of Coconut Grove, showcasing the community’s unique spirit and creativity.
Want to be part of the action? Whether you’re a seasoned strutter or a first-time participant, there’s a place for you in the King Mango Strut with spots for floats still available. Let your imagination run wild. No experience or special skills are necessary; it is just a willingness to have fun and embrace the strut. Secure your spot and prepare to strut your funny side by filling out a strutter application at www.kingmangostrut.org/strutter-application.
The 2025 King Mango Strut is supported by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sandbar Sports Grill, Barracuda Taphouse & Grill, Milam’s Markets, Chug’s Diner, and GreenStreet among others.
The parade starts on Commodore Plaza before turning left onto Main Highway until it reaches the Grand Avenue/McFarlane intersection. From there, it will turn left onto Grand Avenue until it arrives back at Commodore Plaza. Post-parade entertainment with live music will continue immediately after on Commodore Plaza and Fuller Street.
