Elections are the foundation of a healthy and vibrant democracy. And among all elections, municipal elections are the most important because they determine the representatives closest to you. These are the leaders who impact your everyday life — from setting tax rates and local fees, to determining zoning rules, to supporting first responders who protect our neighborhoods.
That’s why it is essential that every eligible voter in Miami, Miami Beach, and Hialeah participate in the Run-off Elections on Tuesday, December 9.
In recent years, we’ve seen voter turnout drop in second-round contests. We cannot allow that to happen. I want to sincerely thank everyone who voted on November 4 — your participation helped boost turnout. But our work is not done. We must keep that momentum going.
And the good news is that voting in Miami-Dade County is easier and more convenient than ever, with three ways to vote: by mail, early, or on Election Day. My strongest advice is that you plan and utilize one of the three ways available to Vote.
If you requested a vote-by-mail ballot, please complete it and return it right away. You may also drop off your completed vote-by-mail ballot at an early voting site in your city or on Election Day at Elections Headquarters, centrally located in Doral at 2700 NW 87th Avenue.
Early Voting: December 5 – 7
Early voting will take place in all three cities over three days. Here’s what you need to know:

- Saturday–Sunday, Dec. 6–7: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- General Election contests: Council Groups III and IV
Election Day: Tuesday, December 9
Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
If you are in line by 7 p.m., you will be able to vote.
These elections matter deeply. Voting is a precious right and responsibility — one that many people around the world do not have, including in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, where so many residents of Miami, Miami Beach, and Hialeah have their roots.
Your vote is your voice. It’s your say in what happens in your city, your neighborhood, and your future.
Let’s participate, let’s shine, and let’s show the rest of the county, the state, and the nation that we are civically engaged and that we care about our communities.
If you have questions, visit www.votemiamidade.gov or call 305-499-VOTE. For vote-by-mail questions, call 305-499-8444. You may also visit Elections Headquarters in Doral or our Branch Office at the Stephen P. Clark Center, where our knowledgeable and dedicated team members are ready to assist you.
Let’s all vote on December 9 — and help keep our democracy healthy and vibrant.
