In partnership with Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, Jungle Island recently hosted 12-year-old Roel Moreno Gonzalez, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, for an exclusive Up-Close VIP animal tour.
As part of the once-in-a-lifetime experience, Roel, along with family members and friends, enjoyed a privately guided tour led by the park’s VIP Tour director Ryan Jacobs. The tour included interactions with some of the world’s rarest animals including, but not limited to, playing with lemurs from Madagascar, touching the white-down collar of an Andean condor, and feeding Florida’s favorite pink flamingoes.
“Teaming with Make-A-Wish Southern Florida to put a big smile on Roel’s face was the highlight of our day,” said Curtis Crider, Jungle Island’s general manager. “We are thrilled to support the great work of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida and to provide memorable journeys for all park guests. Jungle Island’s VIP tour will be an experience Roel and his family will always treasure.”
