Jungle Island prepares to open new Aerial Game Trek, Nov. 21

Jungle Island, South Florida’s premier eco-adventure destination, has announced the upcoming debut of Miami’s only six-acre Aerial Game Trek on Saturday, Nov. 21.

The new outdoor aerial adventure park features four color-coded ropes courses, more than 100 obstacles of varying difficulty levels, two ziplines and ample space for participants to social distance. Additionally, Jungle Island offers a Discovery Course for kids ages 5 and older.

Strap on a helmet and full-body harness, and let the adventures begin. Following an in-depth tutorial led by an expert guide, participants will be fastened onto the courses’ continuous safety line using an interlocking safety clip system designed to keep guests safe at all times. Once secured, climbers can ascend at their own pace into the treetops where they will encounter suspended bridges, Tarzan swings, swinging logs, cable crossings and ziplines. Guests are able to climb from one treetop to the next through wooden platforms that are built high up in the trees and are connected by a combination of cables, wood and ropes.

“We are excited to bring our guests closer to nature,” said Curtis Crider, Jungle Island’s president and managing director. “Whether you want to channel your adventurous side, conquer a fear of heights or test your physical strength, the Aerial Game Trek combines fun and fitness amid a safe outdoor environment. There are rope courses for everyone and obstacles for all skill levels. We invite locals and tourists back to Jungle Island for memorable treetop adventures.”

In addition to plenty of heart-pumping challenges, the Aerial Game Trek is integrated naturally into Jungle Island’s lush tree canopy, with scenic views of the Magic City and Biscayne Bay. It is the latest permanent attraction in a series of new entertainment offerings coming soon to the eco-adventure theme park including a 19,000-square-foot Flying Squirrel indoor trampoline park. This indoor amusement center will be equipped with multiple interconnected trampolines, basketball hoops, dodgeball court, foam pits, and café.

Jungle Island will exclusively open for the Aerial Game Trek only and by online reservations only Fridays to Sundays and daily over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. As part of the experience, guests also get to meet and interact with some of the rare animals that call Jungle Island home, as well as receive access to a Treewalk Village and thematic playground — both of which were completed in March 2020. The Treewalk Village boasts five 19-foot giant tree houses that guests can explore by traversing through hammock nets and wooden bridges. While the neighboring playground provides kids with hours of excitement, including a spiderweb climb, climbing ropes, rock climbing, a balance beam, a slide and wooden bridges.

To participate in the Aerial Game Trek, guests must be at least 5 years or older, and a minimum of 45 inches tall. Height and weight restrictions apply. No climbing experience is required. Tickets are $59.99 per adult and $39.99 per child (5 years and older). If a parent wishes to join their child on the Discovery Course, the cost is $39.99 per person.

Reservations are required and participation times are spread out to allow for social distancing and to adhere to Miami-Dade County’s New Normal guidelines on capacity restrictions. Team building and group activities are available upon request.
