Jungle Island’s Luminosa returns with new twists, Holiday Village
More than 150 tons of steel, 200,000 feet of silk-like fabric, 56,000 LED bulbs and 700,000 feet of LED light strips have been used to bring this spectacular project to life.

Jungle Island, in collaboration with LEKTRIK Art, has announced the return of its beloved Luminosa festival, now entering its third year.

Building on the resounding success of previous years, Luminosa promises even more wonder, with enchanting new elements and immersive experiences. For a limited time, guests also can explore Jungle Island’s inaugural Holiday Village.

“Luminosa is set to dazzle visitors like never before,” said Jeremy Hauwelaert, president and CEO of Jungle Island. “At our upcoming festival, we’re pushing the boundaries of imagination, blending cutting-edge technology with timeless storytelling. From our dragon lanterns to a storybook journey, we’ve created a nocturnal wonderland that will captivate guests of all ages. This is truly a must-visit experience in Miami.”

Enter a fairytale world
Guests will step through a grand archway into the magical world of Luminosa, where this year’s fairytale-inspired festival features enchanting installations. One of the highlights is the spectacular Book Walkway, a portal that transports guests into a storybook journey. The passage is lined with giant, animated books that appear to open and close, while butterflies gently flap their wings, creating a whimsical start to the adventure.

Another standout is the display of nine towering dragon lanterns, majestically placed across the park’s water features. Inspired by the mythical nine sons of the Dragon King, these dragons reflect their significance in Chinese folklore. Lit by surrounding lotus lanterns, this striking display offers a breathtaking view.

The story continues across themed areas, including mythical creatures and kawaii-inspired walkthroughs. Additional highlights include a candy-themed playground for kids and bioluminescent effects that light up the tropical landscape with dazzling displays.

Limited-time Holiday Village
New in 2024, Jungle Island introduces its first Holiday Village, running from Nov. 14 through Jan. 5. Tucked away within the park’s forest, this festive European-style marketplace will feature over 100 Christmas trees, food stands with holiday treats like elephant ears and mulled wine, a bazaar with seasonal crafts and gifts, and a 30-foot Christmas tree.

Immersive experiences for all
This year’s artistic lantern scenes will illuminate Jungle Island in a more expansive and awe-inspiring way than ever before, significantly larger than last year. More than 150 tons of steel, 200,000 feet of silk-like fabric, 56,000 LED bulbs and 700,000 feet of LED light strips have been used to bring this spectacular project to life.

The final design features more than 40 monumental, handcrafted lamp scenes, showcasing vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Over 200 people from around the world have contributed to this project, including Chinese artists, eight graphic designers, 150 welders, 52 seamstresses, along with project managers, engineers and electricians.

Justin Corsa, CEO of LEKTRIK Art, said, “I’ll never forget walking into Jungle Island for the first time in 2018, when we began discussing the possibility of bringing this project to life.

Watching the designs unfold and seeing our vision come to fruition has been nothing short of amazing. This edition of Luminosa will be even more exciting, with additional interactive elements, stunning new lantern scenes and extraordinary performances. We can’t wait to welcome everyone soon.”

As always, Jungle Island enhances the festival with live acrobatic performances, a shopping bazaar, photo zones, and festive food and drink options, making Luminosa perfect for families, couples and groups seeking a memorable and unique night out.
