The Kiwanis of Little Havana capped off yet another successful annual Christmas Gala recently at the Miami Seaquarium.
Sponsored by BMW, Heineken, AT&T and Bacardi, the gala gathered attendees from all over Miami and featured a cocktail reception, catered hors d’oeuvres and live performances by 1993 King of Carnaval Miami, Willy Chirino; Grammy and Emmy-award winner Albita,; Latin freestyle artist Johnny O, and leading Cuban music band, Los 3 de la Habana.
Proceeds from the 40th annual Kiwanis Club of Little Havana Christmas Gala support a variety of holiday projects geared towards providing toys, games and fun to thousands of undeserved children in the South Florida community including:
• A Toy for Every Child and Christmas Giving Fair — distribution of over 5,000 new toys to children in daycare centers, elementary schools and migrant labor camps, along with a daylong fair full of activities, games, food and gifts.
• Adopt-a-Family — fulfills wishes and needs to approximately 300 impoverished families during the holiday season. With the support of companies and sponsors, the number of families grows every year.
