The Latin Builders Association will host its biennial Builders & Business Expo on Friday, Mar. 31, at the Miami Airport Convention Center, located within the DoubleTree by Hilton property at 711 NW 72 Ave.
The 2023 LBA Expo, presented by Amerant Bank, will aim once again to bring together hundreds of LBA member companies to showcase their services and products, in a day-long event that will offer attendees the opportunity to visit the various exhibits and network with building and construction professionals from throughout South Florida.
The theme of this year’s LBA Expo will be “The Future” and will include several panel discussions, informative sessions, and fireside chats throughout the day in three corresponding stage areas within the Expo floorplan. Each presentation will examine how the future of different aspects the building industry will look like and the effect it will have in our community and our future generations.
The main stage area will feature the opening panel discussion titled “Lessons from Surfside,” which will aim to explore how the Champlain Towers tragic collapse is changing the way residential buildings are maintained and the responsibility condo boards have.
The Expo will culminate in the afternoon session, with the closing panel discussion titled “Miami 2050,” which will try to forecast how Miami will look in 25 years and beyond.
The other sessions and chats will include a look into the future of mobility — from mobility as a service to flying cars to high-speed trains — to the future of construction management and equipment, exploring new tools and technology building professionals are using and will be using to create efficiencies in the industry.
Other conversations will offer different ways to obtain working capital for operations and development projects and how our financial markets will affect housing and small businesses in the years to come, as well as how the office of tomorrow and commercial spaces will look like, plus the effects insurance will have on commercial and residential development.
Contractors and material vendors also will have the opportunity to attend the Construction Law breakout session, with some of the top construction attorneys in our area offering their counsel and answering questions on different topics involving construction law. Each session will feature experts in their respective fields with input from several elected and appointed officials who are scheduled to participate.
The Expo floor will showcase nearly 100 company exhibits including specialized equipment and heavy machinery displays, as well as construction tools and modern materials for different types of construction.
“This event is central to the Latin Builders Association’s commitment to highlight and celebrate builders, construction professionals and all our member companies, and also to offer leadership on issues that are affecting our industry and how technology and innovation are intersecting with it to literally build a better tomorrow.” said LBA president Gus Cabrera when asked about the 2023 LBA Builders and Business Expo. The event is expected to attract over 2,000 attendees.
