New Branded Platform Turns Every Marlins Home Run Into Support for South Florida Healthcare
The Miami Marlins and LEON Medical Centers today announced an extension of their partnership for the 2026 season, highlighted by the launch of “Home Runs for Healthcare,” a new community-driven initiative that transforms on-field performance into meaningful impact across South Florida.
Under the program, LEON Medical Centers will make a financial contribution to La Liga Contra El Cancer (The League Against Cancer) for every home run hit by a Marlins player during the 2026 season. Funds will support free medical care, treatment, and support services to low-income, uninsured, and underinsured cancer patients in Florida.
The initiative reflects the Marlins’ belief that the fan is the heartbeat of the organization and that the power of baseball extends beyond the field. Each home run will serve as both a celebration at loanDepot park and a tangible investment in the health of South Floridians.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with LEON Medical Centers and continue building on the meaningful work we have accomplished together,” said Robert Gelman, Miami Marlins Vice President of Partnership Development and Marketing. “Home Runs for Healthcare reflects the strength of that relationship, as we team up to turn the excitement of every home run into impactful support for the healthcare providers and institutions that serve families across South Florida.”
“At LEON Medical Centers, caring for our community is central to who we are,” said Benjamín Leon III, Chairman, LEON Medical Centers. “Extending our partnership with the Miami Marlins allows us to celebrate every home run while advancing healthcare initiatives that support families across South Florida. Together, we are making waves for the health of our region.”
“We thank Leon Medical Centers for always making La Liga their priority,” said Manny Alfonso, La Liga Contra el Cancer Vice President of Volunteer Development. “We believe that joining together La Liga with Leon Medical Centers and the Miami Marlins, proves the power of sports and community goes far outside the field, uniting to make a difference and continuing to help save lives!”
The Marlins will execute a comprehensive 360-degree branded campaign to amplify the initiative throughout the season. Home Runs for Healthcare will be integrated across in-ballpark assets as well as digital and social platforms, allowing fans to follow the impact in real time and deepen their connection to the cause.
Beyond the new initiative, the extended partnership includes a series of fan engagement, community, and in-ballpark activations throughout the 2026 season. LEON Medical Centers will continue its involvement in the Marlins Alumni Program, including the popular Sunday Selfies experience with Marlins Alumni that connects fans with former Marlins players during select Sunday home games.
The partnership will also feature the LEON Legends program, which highlights Marlins alumni through community appearances, including visits to LEON Medical Centers locations across South Florida while engaging fans through co-branded apparel and outreach initiatives.
As part of the partnership, LEON Medical Centers will also serve as the presenting partner of the Javier Sanoja Gold Glove Bobblehead giveaway, bringing a special fan promotion to loanDepot park during the 2026 season.
The Miami Marlins begin the 2026 regular season with Opening Day under the lights on Friday, March 27 vs. the Colorado Rockies at 7:10 p.m. at loanDepot park. For more information on the Marlins, please visit Marlins.com and MarlinsBeisbol.com.
