Let’s be election ready in Miami-Dade this fall

The Office of the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections is ready for the municipal elections this fall in Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, Miami Beach and Surfside, and wants to ensure voters are too.

Below are key dates for this fall elections season.

Oct. 7
• Homestead Primary Election – Cancelled (Background: In the event there are not more than two candidates for the office of mayor or for any particular council seat, no primary election shall be held for that office or seat. As a result of only two candidates qualifying for Seat No. 1 and Seat No. 5, these races will now appear on the November 4 General Election ballot.)

Nov. 4 (Voter Registration for this election closes Oct. 6)
Hialeah Primary and Special Elections
Homestead General and Special Elections
Miami General Municipal and Special Elections
Miami Beach General Election
Surfside Special Election

Dec. 9 (Registration for this election closes Nov. 10)
Hialeah General Election
Miami Run-Off Election
Miami Beach Run-Off Election

“Voting is your voice. It’s a fundamental right for eligible citizens in Miami-Dade County, Florida, as enshrined in the state’s statutes and constitution. Together, we can make sure every voice in Miami-Dade County is represented,” said Alina Garcia, Miami-Dade County’s Supervisor of Elections. “We are committed to ensure that elections are fair, accurate, convenient, transparent, secure, and accessible for all voters.”

Visit www.votemiamidade.gov to check your status or register to vote and for more information so that you are ready to vote this fall if you reside in the municipalities listed above. Also remember that Florida law now requires voters to renew their Vote-by-Mail request every General Election Cycle, which is every two years. If you have not submitted a request since the last General Election, your previous request has expired.

To continue receiving a Vote-by-Mail ballot, you must submit a new request.
