Cuban singer-songwriter Leslie Cartaya carries the rhythms of her land in her blood, as well as the influence of American jazz and funk, which has shaped her artistic personality. Dubbed “La Princesa del Son,” Cartaya debuted as a soloist with the 2012 album No Pares, on which Caribbean, Afro-American, Afro-Cuban and Latin American rhythms fuse together. In 2013, she was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
Her philosophy is that no dream is impossible, and she feels blessed to have sung alongside greats such as Luis Enrique, Marisela Verena, Larry Harlow, Ed Calle and Steve Roitstein. The Miami Herald wrote that “Leslie Cartaya no para” — Leslie doesn’t stop.
